A friend of mine was dreading packing for a 2 week work trip to Seattle. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to assist. Today's post is the by-product of that and have added my tips for packing for a long work week.
Tip 1: Keep it neutral so that you are able to re-wear articles of clothing, with exceptions of a few bold items... because let's be honest, no one wants to be boring.
Tip 2: Know your climate. Seattle for example, high of 70 low of 50. For us Texans that means bringing more jackets and pants to layer up. My personal favorite is a Tahari black cardigan I wear on the reg, professional and comfortable... YUP!
Tip 3: Tier your packing. Have the most of: shirts, then pants, then skirts/dresses, followed by 2-4 pairs of shoes (make sure they are comfy you will be wearing them for 2 weeks) then add in your colorful and fun accessories including one pair of sassy shoes!
Tip 4: Don't forget your: chargers, face wash and lotion, blow dryer and full sized beauty products. You are not going to want to use what's in the hotel, trust me.
Tip 5: Pick black or brown... if you have both it seems to give you too many options and makes packing and getting ready in the morning that much harder.
Tip 6: Bring your favorite PJ's/lounge wear, because let's be honest you are going to want to watch at least one mini marathon of OITNB.
Tip 7: Utilize the hotels dry cleaning, hotel doesn't have it? Locate one, after the first 4 days take your clothes in. This is under the assumption that you are as clumsy and messy as I am... coffee stains are completely normal.
